MOSTELLER'S MILLS. Five miles N.E. on State Highway 140 - a notable plantation and manufacturing center of the 1860's. The Federal 23d Corps, left wing of Sherman's forces marching southward from Resaca, having crossed at Field's Mill, Coosawatee River, enroute to Cassville, camped at Mosteller's May 18, 1864.
Butterfield's Div., of the 20th Corps, having crossed at Field's, also marched by Mosteller's. Geary's and William's Divisions, 20th Corps, were joined at Adairsville by Butterfield. 008-2 GEORGIA HISTORICAL COMMISSION 1959
