Vallombrosa Plantation of George Michael Troup Governor of Georgia 1823-1827 United States Senator 1816-1818 and 1829-1833 Champion and militant defender of State Rights. This principle above all in his answer to President John Quincy Adams: "The argument has been exhausted. You should stand by your arms.

" Erected by John Laurens Chapter, D.A.R. To honor a great statesman, a noble warrior, a true Georgian and an incomparable American.
