Inscription
Nunnlea was built by Peter Funk ca. 1855 for his daughter Harriet Funk Hise. The grounds include the original brick smokehouse & slave quarters. The side wing and front porch were later additions. Once visited by Pres. Herbert Hoover, itwas purchased by the Beautification League of Louisville and Jefferson Co. in 1962 for its headquarters.
