Henry Cornelius Burnett, 1825-66, represented district, U.S. Congress, 1855-61. Presided at Russellville Convention in Nov., 1861, which formed Ky. provisional government. A member of Confederate Congress from Ky., 1861-65. After dispersal of CSA government from Richmond, sought pardon from President Andrew Johnson.
When pardon was received, charges of treason were dropped.
