Linchester Circa 1681 Since the establishment of Hunting Creek Grist Mill prior to 1681, a mill on this site has served farmers. Known during the Revolutionary War as Murray's Mill. It supplied provisions to the Continental Army. Linchester was also a colonial port of entry. Maryland Historical Society
