Inscription
Hall's Cross Roads At intersection of Old Post Road (established 1666) and Bush Neck Road (1670) were a tavern and relay point for stagecoaches in 18th century. In 1835 nearby stop on Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railroad was named for Aberdeen, Scotland, birthplace of first stationmaster.
Hall's Cross Roads, Mechanicsville and Aberdeen incorporated as Aberdeen in 1893. Marker erected 1976 by Bicentennial Committee of Aberdeen and Maryland Historical Society
