Ye Old St. Peters Methodist Church Founded 1782 Joshua Thomas "Parson of the Islands" preached his first sermon in this church. His spiritual birthplace, the site of his conversion in 1807, is 300 yards south. "The Methodist," his famous log canoe, was launched about 500 yards to the north. Maryland Historical Society
