De La Brooke Manor (surveyed July 28, 1650) Robert Brooke First Lord of the Manor Born London, 1602; died Brooke Place, 1655 Commander of Charles County, 1650. President Provincial Council and acting governor of Maryland 1652. Council met at "De La Brooke" 1662. Original manor house destroyed 1835.
