Early settled by the Swedes. Until 1703, settlers north of Raccoon Creek were attached to Old Swedes', Gloria Dei, Church, Philadelphia; those south of the Creek to Trinity Church, Wilmington, Trinity Church, Raccoon, was organized in 1703.
