This was U.S. Land Office site for filing claims at opening of "Old Oklahoma." April 22, 1889; also, at opening of Cheyenne and Arapaho lands on April 19, 1892. J.C. Robberts was first Register. First post office, Lisbon, established April 20, 1889; name changed to Kingfisher, July 18, 1889.
