Born May 19, 1734/Died March 12, 1802/Served in the militia of South Carolina under General Francis Marion during the Revolutionary War and was for many years deacon of Cashway Baptist Church/is buried in Lowders Hill Cemetery/.2 mile east. Erected by Major Robert Lide Chapter, D.A.R. and the County of Darlington, 24 September 1960
