"Mark Twain" Family
Inscription
Samuel and Pamela Clemens, grandparents of "Mark Twain", settled here in 1803. Samuel was accidently killed in 1805 at a "house-raising". Their eldest son, John Marshall, the father of "Mark Twain", lived here until he moved West.
